Nama Hatta Programs
First & Third Sunday of Every Month, Noon-4:00 pm
- 12:00-12:30: Arrivals and introductions
- 12:30-1:15: Kirtan (devotional singing of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra)
- 1:15-2:00: Read and discuss Vedic scriptures like Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam
- 2:00-3:00: Lunch prasadam (sanctified pure vegetarian food, vegan options available—let us know your dietary restrictions)
- 3:00-4:00: Social hour! Chat with other devotees, sing bhajans, or even help clean up

What’s a Nama Hatta?
Nama-hatta means “marketplace of the Holy Name”—it’s an informal gathering of Krishna devotees, where we sing devotional chants (kirtan) in the ISKCON format, discuss the teachings of our scriptures, and enjoy sanctified food (prasadam) in each other’s company.
Am I Welcome?
Yes! Gaudiya Vaisnavas from any sanga are welcome, as is anyone who is curious about Krishna and bhakti and wants to learn more in a low-pressure, welcoming environment. We enthusiastically welcome souls of all races, ages, genders, and orientations.
About Krishna House
Krishna House is a preaching center in Boothbay, Maine, spiritual home to an inclusive group of Gaudiya Vaisnavas — our community leaders and event style are from ISKCON, and our community members are from a variety of sangas and backgrounds. Under the merciful gaze of Their Lordships Sri-Sri Gaura-Nitai, we meet regularly twice a month on the first and third Sundays, and for major Vaisnava festivals such as Janmastami, Gaura Purnima, and Govardhan Puja.
Devotees are welcome to gather anytime to chant, take prasadam, or browse our free library of books by His Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Simply reach out to us at mainebhakti@gmail.com for more information or to arrange a visit.
